French photographer Cerise Doucéde creates intriguing narratives through her surreal images of random objects frozen in midair around people lost in their own thoughts.

"I wanted to visually illustrate a varied panorama of small daily hallucinations… The moments where one wins or we begin to think of something else, to dream," says Doucéde.

Though they may seem like empty characters on the surface, but their environment is a reflection of their busy minds.

"Imagination takes precedence over reality, the invisible becomes visible."

"Objects around them come to life as if by magic they fly, pile, gather."

"These projected thoughts then allow characters to disconnect for a moment from the monotony of their daily life and take more lightness."

"Each photo is in a direct relationship with the person and his world."
